Alok Kumar Pateria was appointed as ADG, CISF

Recently, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) approved the appointment of Shri Alok Kumar Pateria, IPS as Additional Director General, and Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on deputation basis.

 

  • Alok Kumar Pateria is an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the 1986 batch of Madhya Pradesh cadre.
  • His appointment would be for a period up to May 31, 2020, the date of his superannuation, from the date of assumption of the charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

About the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF)

  • The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) was established on June 15, 1983, as a Central Armed Police Force in India.
  • It was set up under an Act of the Parliament of India on 10 March 1969 with strength of 2,800.
  • The CISF was subsequently made an armed force of the Republic of India by another Act of Parliament passed on June 15, 1983.
  • At present, the active strength of the CISF is 144,418 personnel.
  • The CISF is directly working under the Union Ministry of Home Affairs.
  • The Central Industrial Security Force is headquartered at New Delhi.
